Why Pakistan

Built in Pakistan. Ready for the world.

Offshore delivery decisions deserve evidence rather than adjectives. This page sets out the case for Pakistan with sources, figures and the dates those figures refer to — including where the picture is more complicated.

An established export sector

Not an emerging experiment.

Pakistan's IT and IT-enabled services sector is an established export industry with published national data behind it.

$4.6bn Pakistan's IT and telecom export remittances in FY2025–26 (July 2025 – June 2026), a record high.

20.6% Year-on-year growth in those export remittances, up from $3.814bn in FY2024–25.

20.8 Median age in Pakistan, in a population of roughly 259 million — one of the youngest large workforces in the world.

Every figure on this page carries its source and the period it refers to. Statistics are reviewed at least annually and replaced when newer official data is published — an undated economic statistic is worse than none at all.

Talent

A large, young, English-capable professional workforce.

Pakistan produces a substantial annual cohort of graduates across computer science, engineering, business and the humanities, into a labour market where roles in support, operations, engineering and sales development are a recognised professional path rather than a stopgap.

English is a co-official language of Pakistan and the medium of instruction in higher education, which is why written and spoken English capability is generally strong among the graduate population that BPO and technology employers recruit from.

What matters for your engagement is not national statistics but the specific people on your account — which is why Novatek recruits against a written profile for each role and lets you set the bar.

How candidates are actually filtered

  • A written role profile agreed with you before sourcing begins
  • Written and spoken English assessed against the work, not a generic test
  • A role-relevant practical assessment — a real task, not a personality quiz
  • An interview with the person who will manage them
  • A structured probation with a documented review

You can set the bar, sit in on final interviews and reject candidates. It is your team.

Time zones

Where Pakistan sits in your working day.

Pakistan Standard Time is UTC+5 and does not observe daylight saving, so the offset to your market changes twice a year in markets that do.

Your marketOffset from PakistanYour 9am–5pm in Pakistan time
Dubai / UAE (UTC+4)1 hour behind Pakistan10:00 – 18:00 — near-full natural overlap
London (UTC+0 / +1)4–5 hours behind Pakistan13:00 – 22:00 — strong afternoon and evening overlap
Central Europe (UTC+1 / +2)3–4 hours behind Pakistan12:00 – 21:00 — strong overlap
New York (UTC−5 / −4)9–10 hours behind Pakistan18:00 – 03:00 — evening and night shift
Sydney (UTC+10 / +11)5–6 hours ahead of Pakistan04:00 – 12:00 — early shift

North American and Australian coverage is genuinely achievable, but it is a night or early shift for the team, which has real implications for recruitment, retention and pay. We will tell you which coverage windows we can staff sustainably rather than agreeing to hours we cannot hold — a night shift that cannot be retained costs you more than no night shift at all.

Operating economics

Cost is the third reason, not the first.

Delivery from Pakistan is cost-effective relative to onshore hiring in North America, the UK, Europe and Australia. That is real, and it matters — but it is the least interesting reason to choose a partner.

The reason it matters operationally is what it makes affordable: a dedicated team rather than a shared pool, proper onboarding rather than a two-day induction, a team lead who coaches rather than one supervisor across four accounts, and quality sampling that is actually resourced.

Novatek does not publish rate cards or savings percentages. Pricing depends on role, seniority, shift and team size, and a percentage quoted without your current cost base is meaningless.

What to compare, honestly

If you are building a business case, compare total cost of the operation rather than hourly rates:

  • Recruitment cost and time-to-hire you currently absorb
  • Training and ramp cost per new starter
  • Management overhead and supervision ratio
  • Cost of attrition and re-hiring
  • Tooling, workspace and equipment
  • The cost of the work not being done well today
The honest view

What you should ask any Pakistani provider.

A page that only lists advantages is a sales document. Here are the questions a serious buyer should put to us, or to anyone else in this market.

Ask for the specifics: backup power capacity and runtime, secondary internet provision, and what happens to your queue during an outage. It is documented in the business continuity section of every engagement.

Attrition drives quality more than almost anything else in this industry. Ask for the number, the definition used, and what is being done about it. Be suspicious of a provider who cannot answer.

Ask to see certificates rather than logos. Our position is on the Security & Quality page, stated plainly, including the standards we do not hold.

The strongest reference is a customer with a comparable operation. Ask early — the answer, and how quickly it comes, tells you a lot.

Ask for names, roles and tenure, and whether those people are shared with other clients. Ask what happens if one of them leaves.
